Eros XXII - Ravish
A strong vertical placement of 2 irises conflicts classical arrangement but I played with petals and in a delicious moment added a knot of pearls at the ‘neck’. Pearls are challenging to paint well, but worth the fort.
The collection began accidentally with water flowing from big brushes loosely onto hitherto uncharted rough paper.
Shall we call it my ‘moody blues’ period was launched with a sense of fun and abstraction with the Iris as muse.
Eros reflects the inherent passion and freedom of my work using a floral symbol from Greek mythology.
