Watercolour Botanical Workshops Spring/Summer ~ Jenny Coker
11 September 2015

Dear Friends,

Would you like to feel more confident expressing yourself through watercolour painting?

Have you been promising yourself you would develop your watercolour techniques?

Would you like to retreat from routine for two days and do something creative and nourishing, just for you?

Then you're in luck!   I invite you to contact me to arrange a two-day watercolour painting workshop for yourself and/or a friend.

A number of options are available at present, but please contact me to discuss what would suit you if none of these appeal. Please note that I need a minimum of two people to run a workshop. Don't be put off if you don't have a painting buddy yourself - there's a good chance I will be able to match you up with a kindred spirit!

Beginners Botanical Watercolour Workshop at The Garden Art Studio in Cambridge.

Each morning, a small group of 2-4 participants will meet at my home and settle into painting workshop mode by 9am, continuing until 4.30pm each day.  We can relax and chat on for an hour or so after. These hours are enough for our brains to absorb the information, particularly with the intensity of botanical painting.

"Hi Jenny, What an amazing weekend we've just had, thanks to your amazing talents! I just wanted to email you so I would not miss out on any future courses.  Definitely are going to be spreading the word. Once again thank you so much, I've a feeling I've just found a new passion." ~ Karyn

Our minds whirl with all of the information on method, technique, products and more.   We will have time to digest the new information over tea and coffee breaks and I will supply a light lunch. I draw creative pleasure from my kitchen as much as from my art studio these days!

You will be a welcome guest in my home and studio. Pull up a chair to enjoy the harbour view through terraced gardens and listen to the silence. From my home studio on Devonport Road, we are less than three minute's walk to the bustling centre of Tauranga City and ten minute's drive to the gorgeous beach of Mt Maunganui - but you would never know it!

You will adore the peaceful enveloping sense of contentment in my home as we work through two days of painting instruction, home-made treats and good conversation.

We will decide on the art content depending on what the participants prefer, or what I wish to focus on seasonally.  I will share much of the information that I have gleaned over the past 20+ years of painting in watercolour. I offer both beginner and intermediate level workshops and can tailor the learning to your interest and skill level.

The total cost for the two-day painting workshop is $450 per person for a beginner’s workshop and $550 per person for an intermediate workshop.  This includes painting instruction, tea and coffee and a light lunch each day.  You will need to separately provide for accommodation and other meals.

For the Beginners Botanical Workshops, all materials will be supplied.   For Intermediate Botanical Workshops, a small materials list will be supplied upon enquiry.  If you haven't the pigments that are on the list, don't worry as I have plenty and there's no point in wasting money until you're hooked!  Please note that it is not essential for you to buy everything on the list, particularly if you are testing the botanical art idea. Email me if you have any queries or concerns.

My home offers queen bedroom accommodation with separate personal bathroom for one person if required overnight.  This is an additional cost of $150 and includes a light breakfast.  I can also recommend several local accomodation providers if you wish.  Please email me to discuss.

If this sparks your interest please contact me to discuss further.  p. 07 578 0602 m. 0274 514 167.

I look forward to beautiful splashes of pigment and a lot of fun!
